Application Dates And Details

Students across Uttar Pradesh can apply for financial help through the state government scholarship scheme for the academic year. The program covers students from Classes 9 to 12 as well as those pursuing graduation, postgraduate degrees, diplomas, and ITI courses. Eligible groups include General, SC, ST, OBC, and minority communities. Applications for Classes 9 to 12 opened on August 11, with deadlines for those classes now closed. Fresh applications for post-matric courses under the Dashmottar category remain open until October 31, 2026, while post-matric renewal applications close on October 15, 2026.

Amounts And Eligibility

Financial support depends on the student's category, course, and whether they live at home or in a hostel. Pre-matric SC students receive Rs 3,500 as day scholars and Rs 7,000 as residential students, while General-category pre-matric students get Rs 3,000 annually. Post-matric maintenance allowances range from Rs 230 to Rs 550 per month for day scholars, and up to Rs 1,200 per month for hostellers depending on the course group. Applicants must use the official portal to submit personal, academic, income, and bank details along with required documents. A printed copy of the form must be submitted to the school or college for verification. Payments are transferred directly, often requiring Aadhaar-linked bank accounts.

Context

State government scholarships in India aim to reduce dropouts and support students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds by easing education-related expenses. These programs typically verify family income limits to ensure that financial assistance reaches eligible students who need it most.
