Gold jewellery stocks surged up to 4% on Friday, 6 November, as India celebrated Dhanteras 2026, a peak buying day for gold and silver. Titan shares jumped over 3.35% to ₹4,996.70 per share, while Kalyan Jewellers rose more than 4% to ₹581.25. PC Jeweller, Senco Gold and Sky Gold and Diamonds each added about 2% in the session. The rise came after gold prices recovered from a sharp correction in recent months, reviving investor interest in listed jewellery firms. Improved retail sentiment and expectations of higher jewellery purchases also backed the rally. Dhanteras and Diwali are traditionally the strongest periods for India’s jewellery industry, when consumers buy gold and silver as festive gifts. The ongoing wedding season adds another layer of demand, prompting investors to anticipate greater store footfall, higher sales volumes and more purchases of gold coins, bars and ornaments. ## Context Dhanteras, observed a few days before Diwali, is considered an auspicious time for buying precious metals, so jewellery sales and related stock prices typically rise during this festive window.
