NPCI has launched a wholly owned subsidiary, NPCI Tech Solutions Limited (NTSL), to build capabilities in artificial intelligence, blockchain and digital financial infrastructure. The new unit will also offer Global Capability Centre services and support projects such as eKYC Setu and the Unified Ticketing Platform. Vishal Kanvaty, who has spent almost ten years at NPCI and led several market‑innovation platforms, has been named Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NTSL. Dilip Asbe, NPCI’s Managing Director and CEO, said technology drives the corporation’s digital transformation and that AI and other emerging tools open new possibilities for financial services. He added that NTSL will strengthen NPCI’s technology base and expressed confidence in Kanvaty’s leadership. NTSL becomes NPCI’s fourth wholly owned subsidiary, joining NPCI International Payments Limited, NPCI Bharat BillPay Limited and NPCI BHIM Services Limited. The corporation describes NTSL as its technology and innovation arm, tasked with building capabilities across emerging tech domains. The formation followed approval from both the NPCI board and the RBI. ## Context The move expands NPCI’s role beyond payments, aligning with India’s broader push for digital financial services and innovation in fintech.
