Reality Television Victor Plans Flood Relief Donation for Prize Money

Political commentator and debutant contestant Shehzad Poonawalla captured the title of the reality programme Rise and Fall Season 2 after six weeks of competition. The victor surpassed television actors Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, who finished as the runner-up, and Gautam Gulati in the final stage to claim the trophy along with a cash reward of thirty-five lakh rupees.

Prize Distribution

The winning contestant announced plans to donate the entire cash prize to public welfare efforts rather than keeping the funds. The money is designated for the Chief Minister relief funds in Assam and Bihar to assist with flood management and disaster support.

Game Dynamics

Reflecting on his journey, the champion described himself as an underdog competing against established names from the entertainment industry. His time on the programme featured notable friction, including a bitter rivalry with runner-up Priyanka Chahar Choudhary where harsh labels were exchanged, though he later expressed regret for those specific remarks. An early physical altercation with fellow participant Siwet Tomar led to Tomar's departure from the series following a rules violation.

Context

Reality competitions frequently bring together figures from vastly different professional backgrounds, creating unexpected alliances and intense interpersonal clashes under strict game formats. Public figures transitioning into entertainment television often use such platforms to alter public perception and reach wider audiences beyond their usual professional domains.
