Reported by Rituparna Sen (Section Editor) · Livemint - Markets ·
Discount brokerage firm Zerodha has announced zero brokerage charges for all trades placed during the upcoming Muhurat trading session on Sunday, November 8, 2026. While clients will be charged normal brokerage fees on that day, the company will reverse the charges back to client trading ledgers within three working days. This fee reversal applies to intraday, futures and options, commodity, and margin trading facility transactions.
Rules and Timings
Systematic investment plan orders on Kite will not execute during this special session and will instead be placed on the next regular trading day. Sale proceeds from buy-today-sell-tomorrow transactions executed on November 8 will settle on November 9, but credits will only become available for trading on November 11 due to a trading holiday on November 10. Stocks purchased under margin trading facility on November 6 cannot be sold during the Muhurat session and will be tradable starting November 9. Instant payouts will remain available as usual, while regular payouts processed on Sunday will reach client bank accounts by Monday, November 9. Exchange circulars indicate the special session runs with login from 1:15 pm to 1:50 pm, block deals from 1:50 pm to 2:05 pm, pre-opening from 2:05 pm to 2:20 pm, and continuous trading from 2:20 pm to 3:30 pm.
