KSRTC will launch air‑conditioned buses that take pilgrims straight from Thiruvananthapuram and Cochin international airports to Pampa for the 2026‑27 Mandala‑Makaravilakku season. The plan follows talks between KSRTC officials and airport authorities. From Thiruvananthapuram airport a bus will leave at 9:30 p.m., with a return service scheduled to reach the airport by 7 p.m. From Cochin airport the departure is set for 8:30 p.m., and the bus will be back at the airport at 7 p.m. Both terminals will provide resting areas where travellers can wait or stay overnight. Tickets can be purchased through the KSRTC online portal, and links will also appear on airline booking sites. Groups may book whole‑bus charters if needed. The Pampa bus station will display up‑to‑date flight schedules from both airports, helping pilgrims coordinate travel. Transport Minister C.P. John said the move is meant to make the pilgrimage journey smoother and more comfortable. The service is part of a broader effort to upgrade facilities for the annual pilgrimage during the 2026‑27 Mandala‑Makaravilakku festival.

Context

Pilgrims often face long road trips after landing at the airports. Direct bus links cut travel time and reduce the need for multiple transfers. Real‑time flight displays help match bus departures with arriving flights, improving overall coordination.
