The Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan will hold Class 10 board examinations twice every academic year starting from the 2026-27 session. This new format replaces the old supplementary exam system.
Exam Schedule And Rules
The main exam will take place in February and March. A second remedial exam will follow in May. Students who score less than 33 percent in up to two subjects during the main exam can take the second exam under the essential improvement category. Students who miss one subject and score below 33 percent in another can also take this test. Students who pass the main exam can use the second exam to improve their marks in up to three subjects. The board will count the higher marks obtained by a student across both exams for the final result.
Admissions And Assessments
Students in the essential improvement category get provisional admission to Class 11 based on their main exam performance. This admission becomes permanent once they clear the second exam. Internal assessment and session marks are awarded only once and carried forward for the final result.
Context
Many state boards and national boards like CBSE are moving towards holding board exams twice a year to reduce stress on students. This change gives learners a second chance to clear subjects or improve scores without losing an entire academic year.
