TVS Motor Company has crossed the 2.5 million sales milestone for its NTorq scooter brand, supported by sustained growth from both its 125cc model and the newly introduced 150cc variant. Launched on February 5, 2018, the NTorq 125 had sold 2.08 million units by the end of August 2025. Following this, TVS rolled out the NTorq 150 in September 2025 as a more powerful sibling on the same platform.

Sales Performance

In August 2026, TVS factories dispatched 40,256 NTorq scooters, consisting of 28,298 units of the NTorq 125 and 11,958 units of the NTorq 150. According to Rushlane, overall two-wheeler retail sales in India reached 1,790,188 units in September 2026, marking a 33.08 percent year-on-year increase, with TVS posting total sales of 364,640 units for the month and a market share of 20.37 percent. The brand's combined sales for the first five months of fiscal year 2027 reached 184,475 units, reflecting a 42 percent year-on-year growth compared to the same period previously.

Pricing and Variants

The NTorq 150 is offered in two variants, priced at Rs 119,000 for the Standard version and Rs 129,000 for the TFT version. Its starting price sits just Rs 11,000 above the top-end 125cc NTorq XT variant. Key competitors in the segment include the Yamaha Aerox 155 priced between Rs 151,000 and Rs 154,000, the Hero Xoom 160 at Rs 149,000, and the Aprilia SR 175 at Rs 126,000.

Context

The scooter segment in India has expanded steadily following the pandemic, aided by new model launches, rising demand in rural and semi-urban markets, and policy shifts affecting internal combustion engine vehicles. TVS continues to balance its portfolio between petrol-powered scooters like the NTorq and Jupiter alongside electric offerings like the iQube.
