Bear Grylls Defends Russell Brand Baptism After Court Conviction
Reported by Aakash Bora (Staff Writer) · The Mirror - Crime ·
Bear Grylls says Russell Brand showed true faith when they met for a private baptism in early 2024. Brand, who is 51 years old, was found guilty on Thursday of raping one woman and sexually assaulting three other people. The baptism took place in the River Thames close to Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire. Grylls helped perform the ceremony after public allegations against Brand came out following reports by The Sunday Times and Channel 4. Following the court verdict, Grylls posted a message on X about the situation. He stated that he visits prisons to meet people who have done terrible things because faith requires helping anyone. He also mentioned that court systems and God handle judgment, and he does not want to stop anyone from finding religion. Grylls added that justice is now served and praised the victims as the real heroes of the situation while noting how difficult this period must be for them. Brand now faces a long prison term.
