Counselling Schedule
The Medical Counselling Commission has released the tentative schedule for the NEET PG 2026 online counselling process for MD, MS, Diploma, and PG DNB seats under the All India Quota. Registration for Round 1 will begin on October 12 and close on October 21, 2026, through the official website at mcc.nic.in. Participating institutes verified the tentative seat matrix from October 10 to October 12. Qualified candidates can apply online during the registration window.
Important Dates
Choice filling for Round 1 will open on October 13 and close on October 22, 2026. The choice locking facility will be active from October 21 to October 22. Seat allotment processing will take place on October 22 and 23, with the final Round 1 result scheduled for declaration on October 24. Selected candidates must report to their allotted colleges for joining between October 26 and November 2. Institutes will verify joined candidate data and share it with the MCC on November 3.
Seat Matrix and Fees
Meanwhile, the National Medical Commission has released the institute and course-wise seat matrix, listing over 50,000 postgraduate seats nationwide. However, this matrix excludes seats from applications for increased intake in existing courses or new PG courses for the 2026-27 academic year. The Commission has warned medical colleges against admitting students beyond approved intake capacity, noting that such actions violate the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, and invite penalties. The non-refundable registration fee for All India Quota seats is Rs 1,000 for unreserved and EWS candidates, and Rs 500 for reserved categories like SC, ST, OBC, and PwD. For deemed universities, the non-refundable fee is Rs 5,000 for all categories. Refundable security deposits for AIQ seats are Rs 25,000 for unreserved and EWS applicants, and Rs 10,000 for reserved categories and applicable Jain and Muslim candidates. For deemed universities, the refundable security deposit is Rs 2,00,000 across categories.
Context
The Medical Counselling Commission handles seat allocation for postgraduate medical courses based on national entrance exam scores. Strict adherence to intake caps helps maintain educational standards across medical colleges in the country.
