Exam Details
The exam is a computer-based test held in English and lasts for 150 minutes, or 2.5 hours. It takes place across more than 100 cities in India. The test consists of 100 total questions split across five subjects: 40 in mathematics, 25 in physics, 20 in chemistry, 10 in quantitative aptitude, and 5 in English. Candidates receive three marks for every correct answer and lose one mark for each wrong answer. The registration fee is Rs 1300.
Admissions and JEE Main
Students can also use their JEE Main 2027 percentile to apply for BTech admission. Candidates who register for AEEE can apply using their JEE Main percentile without paying any extra fee. Applying through both options helps students try for a scholarship seat. The exam scores grant entry to BTech programmes across campuses in cities like Amaravati, Amritapuri, Bengaluru, Chennai, Coimbatore, Faridabad, Haridwar, and Nagercoil.
Context
Entrance exams for engineering colleges in India typically set their schedules well in advance to help students plan their final school years and board exam preparations. Private universities often offer multiple pathways for admission, such as their own tests alongside national scores like JEE Main, to attract a wider pool of applicants.
