Rajinikanth's Team Clears Air Over Dharman Set Rumours

Rajinikanth's team has officially shut down online rumours claiming a rift between the actor and director Ashwath Marimuthu on the sets of their upcoming film Dharman. A now-deleted post on X had alleged disagreements and an uncomfortable working atmosphere during the shoot. A member of Rajinikanth's PR team dismissed these claims in Tamil, stating that the star feels very comfortable and happy working with the director due to his dynamic style. The team member added that the film is progressing well, rapidly, and excellently.

Background

Before Ashwath Marimuthu took over, the film went through two director changes. Sundar C originally came on board in November 2025 but exited days later due to unforeseen circumstances, and Cibi Chakaravarthi was announced in January before Ashwath was confirmed in June. Dharman is produced by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International and is slated for release in January 2027.

Cast And Crew

Dharman features Simran, Raashii Khanna, and Yogi Babu in main roles. Recent set leaks also showed Ram Pothineni and Sreeleela shooting for the project, though an official casting announcement for them is still pending. The first look poster showed Rajinikanth wearing blue scrubs and holding a bloody scalpel. Meanwhile, Rajinikanth will also star in Nelson Dilipkumar's Jailer 2, which releases on October 15 with a large ensemble cast.

Context

Celebrity rumours regarding on-set friction often spread quickly on social media platforms like X before being officially addressed by PR teams or representatives.
