Aditya, the grandson of a rickshaw puller from Bihar's Muzaffarpur district, has secured an All India Rank of 946 in the NEET UG 2026 exam. He is the first student from his home village of Ratnauli to crack this medical entrance test, achieving a category rank of 295 in results announced in July.
Family Background
Aditya comes from a humble background with limited financial resources. His grandfather, Saukhi Sahni, worked as a rickshaw puller, and his father, Harendra Sahni, worked as a labourer. He began his schooling at a local government school before passing his class 10 exam under the Bihar School Examination Board. He then completed his intermediate studies at RDS College, where he scored 87 percent marks.
Context
Major national entrance tests like NEET see millions of students compete for medical seats across India each year. Success stories from rural areas and modest economic backgrounds often highlight how education serves as a key pathway for social mobility.
