Donald Trump asks Dana White to take on White House press secretary role
Reported by Aakash Bora (Staff Writer) · CNBC - Top News ·
The Job Offer
President Donald Trump offered the job of press secretary to UFC president and CEO Dana White on Saturday. The president made the announcement in a post on Truth Social. Trump wrote that the offer also extended to White's assistants, even though some are not from our country. He stated that these people are needed to defend against the lunatic left. Trump added that Dana will be a press secretary like none other and urged him to take the job.
Recent Staff Changes
This offer follows other recent changes in the administration. On Friday, the White House announced that deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller would be promoted to chief of staff, replacing Susie Wiles. In October, former press secretary Katie Zacharia left the position just five days after her stint as Karole Levitt's replacement began. Neither the White House nor the UFC immediately responded to a request for comment on the matter.
Context
The role of White House press secretary involves speaking to reporters and explaining the administration's policies to the public on a daily basis. Major political announcements and staff changes are frequently shared directly by leaders on social media platforms before official statements are issued.
