Donald Trump Asks Dana White to Take White House Press Role

UPDATE - follow-up to Trump offers UFC chief Dana White press secretary job: President Donald Trump offered the job of press secretary to UFC president and CEO Dana White in a post on Truth Social on Saturday.

Job Offer Details

Trump wrote on social media that White has been offered the job of Press Secretary of the United States. Trump stated that they need people to defend them against the Lunatic Left and called White a violent fighter and warrior. The job offer also extended to White's assistants, even though some are not from our country. The assistants named by Trump included current and former mixed martial artists from countries such as Brazil and Russia. It remains unclear if White has accepted the position or is simply responding in jest after posting a picture of himself on Instagram stories standing behind the press secretary lectern in the White House with the caption "On to the next chapter."

Context

This follows a recent vacancy in the press office after White House press secretary Katie Zacharia left the position following her first and only press briefing. The president and White share a longstanding friendship dating back to the 2016 campaign, and Trump recently hosted a match on the White House South Lawn for his 80th birthday.
