Rajinikanth Expresses Surprise At Jailer 2 Box Office Success Ahead of OTT Release

Tamil star Rajinikanth reacted with surprise when producer G Dhananjayan recently informed him about the massive box office earnings of Jailer 2. Dhananjayan, who is a producer, distributor, and the treasurer of the Tamil Film Active Producers Association, shared that Rajinikanth asked 'Is that so?' upon hearing the news and remained very humble despite the film's huge success.

Details and Box Office

Rajinikanth questioned why he was being singled out for an honor instead of other key team members, including writer-director Nelson Dilipkumar, production house Sun Pictures led by Kalanidhi Maran, and music composer Anirudh Ravichander, whose background score he credited for the film's appeal. The actor was initially reluctant to accept any personal credit before finally agreeing to take the token of gratitude on behalf of the entire film. Over 24 days since its release on October 15, Jailer 2 has collected Rs 825.85 crore worldwide. The film earned Rs 549.10 crore domestically and added Rs 1 crore from 655 shows on Saturday, alongside an extra Rs 15 lakh from overseas markets.
