OnePlus Rolls Out ColorOS 17 Update With New Design and AI Tools

OnePlus has rolled out its new ColorOS 17 software update, starting with the OnePlus 13R model on November 5. Users who have not received the update yet may need to wait a few days because software rollouts happen in phases.

Update Schedule

Other models are next in line for the software release. The mid-range OnePlus Nord 6 and Nord CE 6 are scheduled to get ColorOS 17 on November 26 according to the company timeline.

New Features

ColorOS 17 focuses on better system performance, visual design and artificial intelligence features. The update brings a Living Flow Design powered by the Luminous Rendering Engine to make screen animations and interactions smoother. An upgraded Trinity Engine improves memory management to reduce app stutters and background app closures for better multitasking. The software also includes AI Mind Space to summarise documents and organise saved content. AI Mind Suggest gives weather updates and calendar reminders, while AI Mind Pilot brings Ask and Agent modes to help with files and presentations. Another tool called OSee uses the camera to translate menus and identify plants and animals. Other additions include Flux Themes for lock screen customisation and Care Mode for accessibility.

Context

Smartphone makers regularly push software updates to add new features, fix bugs, and improve device security over time. These rollouts often go out in phases to help companies monitor servers and catch bugs early before every user downloads the files.
