Bosch Limited shares jumped nearly eight percent over one week alongside its second quarter earnings for the financial year 2026-27. The auto ancillary company closed the Diwali Muhurat trading session on Sunday, November 8, with a marginal increase.

Corporate Actions

The board of directors approved a stock split in the ratio of 1 to 5. This splits every stock with a face value of ten rupees into five equity shares with a face value of two rupees each. This split requires approval from shareholders through a postal ballot. The board also approved a bonus issue in the ratio of 3 to 1. Eligible investors will get three bonus equity shares of two rupees each for every single equity share they hold after the split.

Share Growth

The stock split takes place first, turning one original share into five shares. The bonus issue then follows, giving fifteen additional shares from those five shares. An investor's single original share ultimately turns into twenty shares, each with a face value of two rupees. The company has not yet announced the record dates for these two corporate actions. Bosch shares closed 0.44 percent higher at 50,990 rupees per share on the BSE. The company holds a market capitalisation of 1,50,400.61 crore rupees. The stock returned 8.41 percent in one week, 17.8 percent in one month, 33.7 percent in six months, and 38.47 percent over one year.

Context

Corporate actions like stock splits and bonus issues are common methods companies use to increase liquidity and make shares more affordable for retail investors. While these actions change the number of shares held and the individual share price, the total value of an investor's holding remains the same immediately after execution.
