Acceleration

The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 beats the Triumph Tracker 400 across all direct acceleration tests despite carrying a four-kilogram weight penalty at a total of 185kg compared to the 181kg Tracker. Both models share an identical 40hp peak power rating and a price tag separated by just 10,000 rupees. Instrument testing shows the Guerrilla reaches sixty kilometers per hour from a standstill in 2.85 seconds, while its rival takes 3.05 seconds. That performance gap widens as velocity increases, with the Guerrilla hitting eighty kilometers per hour in 4.36 seconds against 4.86 seconds for the Tracker, and reaching the century mark in 6.24 seconds compared to 7.55 seconds. The Guerrilla achieves this due to a larger engine capacity and broader torque spread, whereas the Tracker uses a smaller 349cc motor that feels soft until passing six thousand rotations per minute.

Roll-On Tests And Braking

Everyday usability tests also favor the Guerrilla thanks to forty Newton-meters of torque versus thirty-two Newton-meters for the Tracker. In second gear roll-on tests from twenty to fifty kilometers per hour, the Guerrilla clocks 1.98 seconds while the Tracker takes 2.44 seconds. Third gear timing from thirty to seventy kilometers per hour shows a larger margin at 2.78 seconds versus 4.15 seconds, and fourth gear testing from fifty to eighty kilometers per hour records 3.38 seconds against 4.32 seconds. When slowing down from sixty kilometers per hour, the Guerrilla stops in 15.73 meters, beating the Tracker's 16.75-meter stopping distance. The Tracker offers better lever feel from its radial four-piston brake caliper, but the Guerrilla wins the braking contest using a larger 310mm front disc alongside road-focused tires instead of the Tracker's 300mm front disc.

Context

Comparing mid-size road motorcycles helps buyers understand how paper specifications translate to real road conditions. Instrument-verified testing often highlights hidden differences in engine tuning that standard brochures do not show.
