Tamil Nadu batsman Sai Sudharsan hurt his leg on Monday while playing against Rajasthan in a Ranji Trophy match at Jaipur's Sawai Mansingh Stadium.
The Injury Incident
Fielding in the covers on the second morning, the left-handed player stopped a shot hit by Karan Lamba before dropping to the turf. He felt pain, prompting the team physio to run out to help him. Walking with a limp, he had to lean on a staff member to get off the ground.
Recovery And Team Return
Team sources stated later that the blow came from the ball striking his knee and the damage is minor. He spent time in the dugout using an ice pack and could play again if the pain settles down. It is not yet clear if he will field further or be able to bat when Tamil Nadu gets its turn after Rajasthan finishes batting.
Recent Schedule
Sudharsan joined the playing eleven as a late addition on Sunday after traveling from Puducherry late Saturday night. He had been playing there for India A against Australia A, arriving so late that some team selectors did not know about the move. The 24-year-old player recently returned from a toe injury and is also picked for the upcoming India A matches against New Zealand starting on October 26.
Context
Players often rush straight from national duty to domestic games to keep up their match practice across formats. Managing heavy playing schedules and sudden travel is a common challenge for modern cricketers trying to stay fit for international selection.
