Dealer Showcase

Kawasaki India has showcased its upcoming Z300 motorcycle to select dealers at a private event in Bengaluru. Bookings for the new bike are expected to start on October 19th, followed by a formal launch on October 20th. The Z300 is built on the platform of the popular Ninja 300 and aims to be the most accessible Z supernaked model from the brand in India.

Design and Features

The motorcycle borrows visual styling cues from larger bikes like the Z900. It features a wide single-piece handlebar, a relaxed riding position, and a TFT instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity. Buyers can choose from Green and Black colour options. The bike retains 17-inch alloy wheels, single disc brakes on both ends, and dual-channel ABS.

Engine and Performance

Power comes from the same 296cc parallel twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine used in the Ninja 300. This motor makes 39 bhp and 26.1 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox. The Z300 is expected to weigh less than the 170 kg Ninja 300 and carry a lower price tag than the Ninja's ex-showroom price of Rs 3.34 lakh.

Context

The upcoming Kawasaki Z300 enters a competitive segment that includes rivals like the Aprilia Tuono 457, KTM 390 Duke, and TVS Apache RTR 310. Entry-level multi-cylinder motorcycles offer riders a balance of everyday usability and higher-performance engine characteristics compared to single-cylinder alternatives.
