Audi has launched its third-generation Q3 in India, marking a major reset for the brand after years of relying on older models. The new compact SUV was tested in Goa to evaluate its performance and features.
Design and Cabin
The exterior features a fluid design language with a wide honeycomb grille that hides the ADAS radar. The standout lighting system uses Digital Matrix LED units with 25,600 individually controlled pixels per headlamp. Inside, the dashboard holds an 11.9-inch driver display and a 12.8-inch touchscreen. Fabric replaces leather across much of the cabin, and the car includes a 12-speaker Sonos system, a panoramic sunroof, and heated front seats with memory functions. However, it misses out on ventilated seats, a 360-degree camera, and lane-keep assist.
Performance
Under the hood, the 2.0 TFSI engine produces 204hp and 320Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. It achieves zero to 100 kph in 7.1 seconds. Quattro all-wheel drive is now standard across all variants. The steering is variable-ratio, and the ride is supported by 55-profile tyres with a roughly 130mm sidewall.
Context
Audi says that 84 percent of Q3 owners drive themselves, making driving dynamics an important focus for this model. The vehicle arrives as part of a fresh product offensive backed by investment from the headquarters to revive showroom traffic in India. It is expected to cost around Rs 65 lakh on-road, positioning it above the outgoing model.
