Italian motorcycle maker Ducati has revealed the 2027 versions of its off-road bikes, the Desmo450 MX and the higher-spec Desmo450 MX Factory. Both models come with performance updates and lower price tags in Europe.
Upgrades And Changes
The standard 2027 Desmo450 MX features a larger 51-tooth rear sprocket to boost wheel torque when coming out of corners, replacing the older 49-tooth version. Ducati also updated the gear and brake lever tips for better rider movement and improved various parts for higher reliability. The standard bike is visually told apart by a new look with black logos instead of white. The MX Factory version gets extra equipment while cutting weight. It sheds 800 grams from its kerb weight, adding to its base 104.8kg dry weight. The factory model includes a full Akrapovic exhaust system that saves 1.7kg, a single-billet machined triple clamp, a sump guard, a disc rotor guard, and an RK MXU chain with O-rings. Its 49mm fork and monoshock get a dark Kashima coating with a titanium oxide treatment for wear resistance, alongside a standard holeshot device for better start control. It also adds a WiFi module for the X-Link mobile app to manage ride modes and predictive maintenance, plus a Ducati Corse red and black logo look.
Pricing And Availability
European prices have dropped for both models. The regular 2027 Desmo450 MX costs GBP 9,495, which is a GBP 1,750 drop from 2026. The MX Factory costs GBP 10,795, marking a GBP 2,400 drop from the previous year. These bikes are reaching European showrooms now, with other global markets to follow later. The US market will stick exclusively to a limited edition 2026 model, while India currently sells the 2026 Desmo450 MX for Rs 17.23 lakh and has not yet received the 2027 models.
Context
Motorcycle manufacturers often update their dirt bikes annually with small mechanical tweaks to improve cornering, durability, and weight on rough off-road tracks. Price drops on new model years are uncommon in the automotive industry, making these reductions across European dealerships notable for buyers looking at premium off-road motorcycles.
