UP Board announces Class 10 and 12 exam dates for 2027

Students appearing for the Uttar Pradesh Board Class 10 and Class 12 examinations in 2027 will take their tests from February 5 to February 24, as announced by board secretary Bhagwati Singh on Monday evening. Hindi will be the first paper for both classes on February 5. The final day of testing on February 24 will feature agriculture papers for high school students alongside computer and Sanskrit exams for intermediate students.

Exam Schedule

Exams will take place in two daily shifts. The morning shift runs from 8:30 am to 11:45 am for Class 10 students, while the afternoon shift is scheduled from 2 pm to 5:15 pm for Class 12. Students get the first 15 minutes of each session to read the question paper, meaning writing time begins at 8:45 am for the morning shift and 2:15 pm for the afternoon shift. Key Class 10 dates include social science on February 8, English on February 10, mathematics on February 13, and science on February 17. For Class 12, history falls on February 10, biology or mathematics on February 12, chemistry or social science on February 15, geography on February 16, and physics on February 17.

Elections And Context

More than 5.1 million students are set to participate in these board exams across government and private schools designated as examination centres. Because these same schools often serve as polling stations, the exam timeline has sparked speculation that the state assembly elections might be pushed to March, following the completion of the tests. Additional chief election commissioner Manish Garg will visit in November, and an Election Commission of India team will review poll preparations in December.
