Toyota has launched the facelifted 2026 Glanza in India with prices starting from Rs 6.99 lakh. The hatchback comes in five trim levels named E, S, G, V and V(O). The entry price for the new top-tier V(O) grade is Rs 10.49 lakh, which is Rs 50,000 higher than the V grade and brings a Level 2 driver assistance system. According to Autocar India, the pricing for intermediate variants starts at Rs 7.71 lakh for the S grade and Rs 8.73 lakh for the G grade, while the V grade begins at Rs 9.99 lakh.

Design and Cabin

The updated model features a revised front styling with a large honeycomb-pattern lower grille, a satin-trimmed larger grille, a radar module for ADAS, redesigned LED fog lamps, and a repositioned front Toyota logo. Exterior options span seven colours, including new Bluish Black and Digital Teal Green choices, alongside a shark-fin antenna, gloss-black lower lip and side skirts. Inside, the cabin adds ventilated front seats, a wireless phone charger with a cooling vent, new leatherette seat upholstery, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and a 4-speaker and 2-tweeter sound system from Clarion.

Engine and Mileage

Under the hood sits a new Z12E 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated engine available in both petrol and E-CNG options with a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox. In petrol mode, the engine delivers 83hp and 112Nm, yielding an increased fuel efficiency of 23.80kpl for the manual and 24.77kpl for the AMT. In CNG mode, it produces 70hp and 102Nm, with mileage reaching 33.61km/kg for the manual and 34.47km/kg for the AMT.

Context

Mid-cycle facelifts allow carmakers to refresh aging models with updated styling, advanced safety features, and better fuel economy to stay competitive in popular vehicle segments. The Glanza competes directly in the Indian market against models like the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz.
