UPDATE - follow-up to Frankfurt-Delhi Air India flight diverted to Jaipur following bomb threat: Security crews are now sweeping the Air India Boeing 787‑9 that landed at Jaipur International Airport after a bomb threat was reported. The aircraft, flight AI2030 on the Frankfurt‑Delhi route, made an emergency landing in the early morning of 14 October 2026 and was moved to an isolation bay for a detailed security check. Assistant Commissioner of Police, Malviya Nagar, Shiv Dayal told PTI that airport officials alerted police about the diversion. Police sources confirmed that security personnel are examining the plane inside the bay. A source said the pilot had activated Squawk Code 7500, the signal for unlawful interference, while the jet was in the Mumbai Flight Information Region, prompting the diversion to Jaipur. The exact number of passengers on board has not been confirmed. Air India has not yet issued an official statement. Investigators are verifying passenger safety before any further movement of the aircraft.

Context

Squawk Code 7500 alerts air‑traffic control to a possible hijack or bomb threat. Indian airports keep isolation bays to isolate and inspect aircraft under such alerts. The procedure helps ensure passenger safety while authorities assess the threat.
