UPDATE - follow-up to Frankfurt-Delhi Air India flight diverted to Jaipur following bomb threat: Air India flight AI2030 was diverted to Jaipur on 14 October 2026 after a squawk‑7500 hijack alert was transmitted while the aircraft was over the Mumbai Flight Information Region. The plane, with 293 passengers and 13 crew, landed safely at Jaipur International Airport at 9:35 a.m. and was moved to an isolation bay for security checks. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has opened a probe and said it will review flight data, cockpit voice recordings and ATC logs. Airline officials say the pilots did not deliberately set the hijack code, while Ahmedabad air‑traffic controllers say recordings will be examined to find the trigger. Security agencies cleared the aircraft and crew after checks. All passengers were taken off, screened and then flown to Delhi on the same aircraft with the same crew. The alert prompted a coordinated response from air‑traffic control and security officials.
Context
Squawk 7500 is the international code used to signal unlawful interference such as a hijacking, which automatically initiates security procedures.
