Rockstar Games is expected to bring Grand Theft Auto 6 to PC in the first quarter of 2027, just a few months after its console launch on 19 November 2026. Four anonymous industry sources cited by GamesBeat say the PC version could arrive between January and March 2027. Rockstar has not confirmed a PC date, and the window remains a guess that could shift. The studio previously moved the overall launch from 2025 to the confirmed 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, marking two schedule changes. Historically, Rockstar released major titles on consoles first: GTA 5 debuted on PS3 and Xbox 360 in September 2013 and reached PC in April 2015, a 19‑month gap; Red Dead Redemption 2 launched on consoles in 2018 and came to PC about a year later. If GTA 6 follows the projected Q1 2027 PC window, the gap could shrink to roughly two to four months. A quicker PC rollout may help gamers who prefer not to buy a console and could let role‑players and modders start creating content sooner. Rockstar bought CFX.re, the team behind the GTA 5 role‑playing framework FiveM, in August 2023, but has not detailed what mod‑ding tools will be supported in GTA 6. In a separate interview, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy told Bloomberg that the next GTA Online is planned for next year, though Rockstar has not set a date for the multiplayer mode.
Context
Rockstar’s pattern of console‑first releases has usually left PC fans waiting many months; a shortened gap reflects the growing importance of the PC market and the community of modders who extend the game’s lifespan.
