Hrithik Roshan makes surprise cameo in Jailer 2 as makers confirm third installment

The highly anticipated action film Jailer 2 released in cinemas today to a strong opening response. Building on the tradition of the first movie, the sequel features several special appearances, most notably a cameo by actor Hrithik Roshan.

Pre-release rumors about Hrithik Roshan joining the cast proved true as he appears at a key moment in the movie to help lead character Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, played by Rajinikanth. Hrithik plays a cool character named Roddy who speaks Tamil and explains that Tiger helped him out twenty years ago. During the sequence, Hrithik tucks his sunglasses behind his shirt collar in a nod to Salman Khan's signature style from the Dabangg series. He also puts on his sunglasses in the classic style of Rajinikanth while standing right in front of the superstar.

While the first film concluded without hinting at a follow-up, Jailer 2 explicitly ends with the promise of a third part. The final scene of the movie features Vijay Sethupathi. In related updates, makers confirmed that the Hindi version of the Rajinikanth-starrer will release on October 15 with no change to the schedule.
