Czech Republic’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Industry Minister Karel Havlíček met officials of BEML in Bengaluru on Oct 15, 2026 to explore deeper industrial collaboration. BEML, the Karnataka‑based state‑owned heavy‑equipment maker, hosted the delegation to discuss ways to link Indian and Czech firms, technology providers and advanced engineering outfits. The Czech team highlighted possible work in high‑precision engineering, tooling equipment, vehicle components, industrial machinery, transport technology and applied research. BEML said the talks aimed at opening new channels for cooperation across those sectors. Two days earlier, on Oct 13, Havlíček held separate talks with India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, where both sides agreed to widen defence‑industry ties through joint ventures and the India‑Czech Joint Defence Committee. ## Context The meeting builds on a growing pattern of Indo‑Czech partnerships, with BEML seeking to tap Czech expertise in specialised manufacturing while the Czech side looks to expand its footprint in India’s defence and heavy‑industry landscape.
