UPDATE - follow-up to Production-spec Honda 0 Alpha India debut on December 2: Honda India will debut the production-version 0 Alpha electric vehicle on December 2 as its first all-electric model for the country, with the final name to be announced in November.

Battery And Design

The SUV will offer two LFP battery pack choices with capacities expected between 65kWh and 75kWh, while the launch model will use a single-motor, front-wheel-drive layout. Test vehicles show the exterior keeps the radical shape of the October 2025 concept, featuring a near-vertical rear end, a thick C-pillar, a large rear windscreen, and a front nose housing an illuminated logo, charging port, and framing headlights.

Cabin And Manufacturing

Inside, the vehicle includes a top-mounted large touchscreen, a smaller digital driver's display, a flat-bottom three-spoke steering wheel with paddle shifters, and physical buttons on the center console for features like climate control and ventilated seats. The SUV will feature a wheelbase of roughly 2,700 to 2,800mm and will be built at Honda's Tapukara plant in Rajasthan, going on to compete against models like the Mahindra BE 6, MG ZS EV, Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Sierra EV, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, and Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella.

Context

Automakers frequently test heavily disguised prototypes on public roads to fine-tune performance and components before a commercial launch. Setting up local production helps companies reduce import taxes and price their vehicles more competitively in growing domestic markets.
