CMS Info Systems shares jump after govt sets 0.4% UPI fee
Reported by Harshdeep Singh (Fact-Checker) · Economic Times - Markets ·
CMS Info Systems shares jumped on Wednesday after the government said it will levy a merchant discount rate on certain UPI payments. The rule applies to person‑to‑merchant UPI transactions above Rs 2,000. From October 15 merchants must pay a 0.4 % fee on each eligible payment. The fee is capped at Rs 300 when the transaction amount is Rs 75,000 or higher. By targeting higher‑value transfers, the policy makes CMS Info Systems a direct beneficiary because it provides the infrastructure for processing those UPI trades.
