Taapsee Pannu starrer Gandhari hits 9.6 million views to top global Netflix charts
Reported by Arjun Sethi (Fact-Checker) · Bollywood Hungama ·
Taapsee Pannu-led action thriller Gandhari has grabbed the number one spot on Netflix's global non-English film chart in its second week. Netflix's official Tudum platform shows the film recorded 9.6 million views during this period. This number sets a new record as the highest single-week viewership ever for an Indian Netflix Original film.
Viewership Growth
Gandhari premiered on September 3 and started its run with 5.9 million views in the first week, landing at number three globally. The second week brought a massive jump of over 60 percent, pushing the weekly views from 5.9 million up to 9.6 million and taking the film to the top spot worldwide.
Comparison With Other Films
The new figures put Gandhari ahead of several other major Indian releases on the streaming platform. Its second-week views beat Jaane Jaan, which pulled in 6.4 million views in its second week. Gandhari also crossed the numbers managed by Darlings in both its first and second weeks. When compared against non-Netflix Original Indian films, the movie surpassed Dhurandhar, which recorded 7.6 million views in its first week and 8.2 million views in its second week. These strong numbers place the Taapsee Pannu starrer among the biggest Indian film performances on Netflix for the year 2026.
