We The Leaders to enter local body polls in Tamil Nadu, says Annamalai

Announcement

K. Annamalai announced that his We The Leaders movement will contest the upcoming local body elections in Tamil Nadu. He made this declaration during a public meeting held at Mannargudi on October 13, 2026.

Warning

During his address, the movement founder urged his supporters to stay away from corrupt political practices. He specifically warned them against switching political parties immediately after election results are declared, citing the actions of Mannargudi MLA S. Kamaraj.

Context

Local body elections allow citizens to choose their representatives for grassroots governance at the village, town, and district levels. Party switching by elected politicians is a common challenge in local and regional Indian politics.
