The traditional Gujarati and Rajasthani folk dance known as Dandia Raas brings people together and encourages them to join in Dasara Navaratri festivities with deep religious devotion, according to Jyoti Bachhawat, president of the Marwari women's wing in Vizianagaram. Bachhawat took part in the Dandia Raas celebrations at Thoshniwal buildings in Vizianagaram alongside general secretary Reema Kothari and senior leader Chanchal Jain. Speaking to the media, Bachhawat stated that the dance, which is performed using wooden sticks, brings joy to participants and reminds everyone of Goddess Durga's nine-day battle with the demon Mahishasura. Around 500 families attended the event, which is planned to continue for the next couple of days.
