Pennsylvania asks CDC for emergency help as measles outbreak causes record deaths
Reported by Kavya Rao (Senior Writer) · Google News - USA Health ·
Pennsylvania has reported a fourth measles-related death, marking the highest number of such fatalities in the United States in decades. Governor Josh Shapiro has strongly criticized Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Donald Trump over the measles situation, calling their handling an example of incompetence. As the outbreak continues to spread across the state, Governor Shapiro has officially asked the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to recognize the measles-associated deaths in the Pennsylvania outbreak. State officials have also requested emergency help from the federal agency. In response to the rising number of cases, the US CDC is currently working on setting a standard definition for measles deaths.
