Aston Villa beats Tottenham 3-2, deepening Spurs' slump

Aston Villa edged Tottenham Hotspur 3-2 on Saturday, widening the capital club's recent slump. Tottenham had just ended a goalless spell in their previous game, but Villa's three goals erased any momentum. Villa's win added to Spurs' misery as the team continues to search for consistency. Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi said he would not speak to his players after the loss, urging the squad's senior members to step up as leaders. In a post‑match interview De Zerbi described his feelings as "disappointed, sad and frustrated" over the defeat. The result leaves Tottenham without a win in their last several fixtures, while Aston Villa builds confidence after the victory.
