Stock Market Deadlines
Investors have until Monday, October 19, to purchase shares of Elecon Engineering Company Limited, ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company Limited, and Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited to qualify for upcoming dividend payouts. All three companies established Wednesday, October 21, as the official record date for determining eligible shareholders. Tuesday serves as a stock market holiday for Dussehra, making Monday the final trading session under the Indian market's T+1 settlement cycle to secure eligibility.
Payout Details
ICICI Prudential AMC leads the group with the highest payout, offering an interim dividend of ₹ 30 per equity share on a face value of Re 1 each. Its stock closed 0.90% lower at ₹ 2811.50 per share on the BSE, carrying a market capitalisation of ₹ 1,38,973.14 crore, and has gained 7.10% over the course of 2026. Elecon Engineering Company approved a dividend of ₹ 0.50 per equity share with a Re 1 face value, following a Friday close down 2.49% at ₹ 480.65 on the BSE. Public sector undertaking MRPL approved an interim dividend of ₹ 3 per equity share with a face value of ₹ 10 each, finishing Friday 1.17% lower at ₹ 172.80 per share with a market cap of ₹ 30,284.91 crore.
Context
Dividend record dates are crucial cutoff points used by publicly listed companies to identify which investors are officially on their books to receive cash distributions. Because stock trades take one business day to settle in India under the T+1 framework, shares must be purchased before the holiday closure so that the buyer's name appears in the registry by the record date.
