New digital portal launched to bring farming schemes and market data to mobile phones

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched an upgraded agricultural welfare portal on Monday, October 19, 2026, to give farmers direct access to government schemes and application services.

Portal Features

The new digital platform acts as a single-window gateway for major welfare initiatives including PM-KISAN, AgriStack, and the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. Farmers can use the portal to check real-time weather conditions, learn scientific farming methods, check seed and fertiliser availability, and view current market prices for crops. A special training campaign will run through Krishi Vigyan Kendras to help rural users navigate the system. The platform also connects Farmer Producer Organisations, Primary Agricultural Credit Societies, scientists, researchers, and startups into one shared digital ecosystem.

Government Objectives

The ministry stated that the portal aims to remove procedural hurdles and cut out middlemen by allowing direct applications and financial assistance transfers via Direct Benefit Transfer. Mr. Chouhan noted that farmers will no longer need to visit multiple offices or websites. He directed officials to keep the platform updated and ensure that the language and steps remain simple enough for small and marginal farmers to use easily.
