Four Left parties and the BRS will stage a joint protest in Khammam on October 22 against alleged political bias in the Indiramma housing scheme.
Details of Protest
CPI (M) district secretary Nunna Nageswara Rao stated that houses are being given out unfairly at the request of ruling Congress leaders. He added that political interference in the selection process harms deserving poor families and keeps eligible people from getting government homes.
Leaders Involved
The protest will take place in front of the Integrated District Offices Complex in Khammam on Thursday. The four participating Left parties are the CPI (M), CPI, CPI (ML) Mass Line, and CPI (ML) New Democracy, joined by the BRS. Leaders who attended the press conference on Monday include CPI district secretary D. Suresh and BRS district president and MLC Tata Madhu.
Context
Protests and demonstrations are common methods for political opposition parties to challenge government policies and administrative decisions. Local party units frequently use public dharnas to demand changes in welfare benefit distribution and fair administrative practices.
