RTR Vehicles will produce only 50 examples of its 2026 Mustang Spec 5, a supercharged version that puts out 870 hp. Three cars have already left the North Carolina plant and customer deliveries are under way. The first unit, painted in a shade called Terrain, was handed to artist Caleb Clark by founder Vaughn Gittin Jr. Each Spec 5 starts as a standard 5.0‑liter V8 Mustang, then receives a supercharger that raises output to 870 horsepower. RTR fits a Tactical Performance suspension with 30‑way‑adjustable front coilovers and adjustable front and rear sway bars, letting owners tune ride height and stiffness. The car rides on 20‑inch forged RTR wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tires and sounds through a Borla exhaust developed with RTR. Prices start at $159,999 and include a three‑year, 36,000‑mile Ford factory warranty. Buyers can order through RTR’s North Carolina facility or authorized dealers. Premium paint colors add $7,500, while the exclusive Mystichrome finish costs $15,000 and unlocks RTR’s paint‑to‑sample program. Marketing and Sales Director Josh Hipp said the model aims to attract both young fans and seasoned enthusiasts, positioning the Spec 5 as RTR’s “apex product.” He hinted that future Spec 5 versions could appear on other Ford models, noting a possible Bronco Spec 5 but offering no details yet. ## Context The Mustang has been Ford’s flagship pony car for decades, and limited‑run, high‑performance editions like the Spec 5 create a collector‑grade market that blends street usability with track‑ready power.
