Representative image · PexelsSaudi Arabia has introduced its first homegrown car maker to the market with the public debut of two battery-powered vehicles on Monday. The national automotive firm, known as CEER, showcased a new sedan and an SUV under the EXOBOT nameplate. This rollout represents the company's first step into making electric passenger cars. The unveiling event was led by the nation's top leader, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Both new models will roll off the production line at the brand's primary industrial plant, which spans the largest automotive manufacturing complex in the Middle East region.
Future Plans
The newly shown sedan and SUV serve as the leading vehicles for the company, heading up a planned lineup of seven total models that will debut over the coming five-year period. This upcoming range will feature smaller compact cars as well as midsize options built with various motor and battery setups. Since starting operations in the year 2022, the firm has built business ties with major global automotive names including BMW, Hyundai, and Rimac. The organization targets having forty-five percent of its vehicle parts sourced from local makers by the year 2034, while creating, building, and testing all models to fit the exact needs of drivers in Saudi Arabia and nearby countries.
