The Telangana government has approved a revised pay structure for nearly 1,800 executive cadre employees of the Singareni Collieries Company Limited on the lines of Coal India. The decision comes after the intervention of Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, fulfilling a long-pending demand from officers.
Implementation
Singareni management issued orders on October 19, 2026, after securing approval from the company's Board. Director for Personnel Gautam Potru issued the notification. The revised basic pay scales take retrospective effect from January 1, 2017. Financial benefits apply from September 25, 2026, which is the date the Singareni Board approved the proposal. Officers will receive revised salaries starting from the October pay cycle.
Pay Details
Under the new structure, basic pay for E-1 cadre officers goes from ₹40,000 to ₹60,000. E-2 officers receive ₹70,000 instead of ₹50,000. E-3 pay moves from ₹60,000 to ₹80,000, and E-4 moves from ₹70,000 to ₹90,000. E-5 officers now draw a basic pay of ₹1 lakh against the earlier ₹80,000. Pay scales for E-6 and E-7 cadres rise to ₹1.2 lakh from ₹90,000 and ₹1 lakh respectively.
Context
This pay revision follows demands raised by Singareni officers seeking salary parity with Coal India executives and other Maharatna public sector enterprises. The move follows the state government's recent announcement of a ₹596-crore Dasara bonus for nearly 39,000 Singareni workers and employees, alongside a ₹5,500 bonus for contract workers.
