Society, Not Protests, Must Drive Change: RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat

Agitations and street protests do not bring about real change, and society must look within itself for solutions through dialogue. Delivering the annual Vijaydashami lecture in Nagpur on Tuesday, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat stated that neither the government alone can resolve all social problems nor can agitations fix them.
Foreign Forces
Bhagwat warned that external forces from the West are trying to derail India from its path of becoming a developed nation by pushing for regime changes. He pointed to recent events in France, Albania, Nepal, and Bangladesh as examples of foreign interference. He also blamed one-sided Himalayan development for the recent floods in Nepal that claimed thousands of lives, contrasting it with a stampede at a Durga Puja in Kolkata which he attributed to domestic faults.
Context
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is a major right-wing Hindu nationalist volunteer organization in India that serves as the ideological mentor of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party. The annual Vijaydashami lecture in Nagpur is one of the organization's most prominent public events where its chief traditionally outlines the Sangh's vision on national and international issues.
