Penalty Imposed

Ahmedabad city district education authorities have penalized Solaris Public School ten thousand rupees after administrative negligence left fifty-four students studying under the Right to Education act without their annual financial support. School management failed to enter student details onto the official RTE DBMS portal.

Investigation and Findings

State authorities have already paid three thousand rupees in financial assistance to more than eighty thousand RTE students for the current academic year. The issue came to light after parents of students at the Solaris Public School lodged a formal complaint with the education department regarding unpaid assistance. A subsequent inquiry revealed that portal entries were never completed for any of the fifty-four children enrolled across various grades under the scheme.

Action and Directives

Acting on the violation of RTE act provisions, DEO R. M. Chaudhary ordered the school to deposit the ten thousand rupee fine through a government challan within two days and complete all pending student entries immediately. Officials confirmed that financial aid will be released to the affected students only after these portal entries are successfully finished.

Context

The Right to Education act requires schools to maintain updated digital records on designated portals to ensure eligible students receive government-backed financial support. Administrative oversights in data entry frequently delay the direct transfer of welfare benefits until authorities intervene with penalties and compliance orders.
