Mahindra has opened official bookings for the new CNG variants of its XUV 3XO compact SUV. Buyers can book the vehicle for a token amount of 21,000 rupees through the official website or at a dealership, and deliveries begin today.

Engine And Performance

The vehicle runs on a 1.2-litre three-cylinder MPFi turbocharged engine. It delivers 111 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque in both petrol and CNG modes, avoiding the typical power drop seen in other CNG cars through special turbo work and a 10-bar CNG injection system. It comes only with a 6-speed manual gearbox, and Mahindra claims a zero to 100 kph time of 11.8 seconds with a fuel efficiency of 24.7 km per kg.

Variants And Prices

The SUV comes in four trims with ex-showroom India prices starting at 9.99 lakh rupees for the MX Edge. The RevX Edge (O) costs 10.79 lakh rupees, the AX5 is priced at 11.19 lakh rupees, and the top RevX A variant costs 12.27 lakh rupees. The RevX A trim includes dual 10.25-inch displays, a panoramic sunroof, leatherette seats, a six-speaker sound system, dual-zone climate control, a tyre pressure monitoring system, LED lights, and six airbags.

Design And Competition

Outside, the car looks like petrol and diesel models except for a ZNG badge on the bootlid. Inside, it features a CNG switch to the right of the steering wheel and a boot capacity of 270 litres due to twin cylinders underneath. The model competes with CNG versions of the Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Tata Nexon.

Context

Automakers increasingly offer factory-fitted CNG kits in popular compact SUVs to give buyers a more budget-friendly fuel option without losing out on everyday utility. Factory setups also maintain company warranties and safety standards that aftermarket kits often lack.
