Benjamin Sesko faces fresh injury setback at Manchester United

Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick has voiced concern over a recurrence of Benjamin Sesko's shin injury. The 23-year-old striker is dealing with the exact same issue that kept him out of action for over two months during the summer.

Injury Timeline

Sesko missed the last three games of the previous season and sat out all of United's preseason matches due to the shin problem. He made six appearances in all competitions after returning as a substitute on the opening weekend against Hull. Following a start in the 3-2 Carabao Cup loss to Brighton, he missed Sunday's match against Fulham after feeling pain after the game.

International Withdrawal

Sesko has now pulled out of the Slovenia squad for upcoming matches against Scotland, North Macedonia, and Switzerland during a three-week international break. The club stated he will undergo tests this week to determine his recovery plan. Meanwhile, Carrick hopes the break helps other injured players recover, as summer signing Carlos Baleba made the bench against Fulham, Matthijs de Ligt traveled but was not fit for the squad, and winger Amad Diallo remains without an appearance this season.
