England were restricted to 265 all out by Sri Lanka in the first men's one-day international at Chester-le-Street. Sri Lanka have a real chance of winning their first game on this tour on a tricky pitch where runs proved hard to come by. Sachindu Colombage starred on his international debut for Sri Lanka at the age of 28, bowling brilliantly to finish with figures of 3 for 44. His wickets included trapping Buttler in front and rattling the stumps of Overton. Will Jacks played a responsible hand at number six, top-scoring for England with 46 runs and hitting four successive boundaries off Chameera, before falling as the last man when Fernando wrapped up the innings by dismissing Tongue for zero. Madushanka also impressed for Sri Lanka, finishing with figures of 1 for 45 and knocking back Atkinson's stumps with a cutter, while Charith Asalanka ran out Rehan Ahmed after a mix-up with Jacks. England had earlier slipped from a comfortable position of 182 for 3 as the innings collapsed in the later stages.
