The Congress student wing, NSUI, failed to win a single post on the four-member Delhi University Students Union central panel for the first time since 2015. ABVP secured the president, secretary, and joint-secretary posts, while the vice-president seat went to Independent candidate Deepanshu Shokeen. Shokeen won with 30,615 votes, beating ABVP candidate Ishu Maurya who got 16,910 votes, while official NSUI candidate Vir Chatrath finished far behind in third place with 4,313 votes. Shokeen had sought an NSUI ticket and claimed he was selected before being asked to withdraw, whereas party sources stated he left after refusing to contest for a different post. Another rebel aspirant, Vishesh Yadav, ran outside the fold in the joint-secretary race and secured 15,778 votes, beating official NSUI candidate Gopal Choudhary who gathered 15,206. These ticket disputes mirror earlier troubles at Panjab University during Kanhaiya Kumar's tenure, where rebel candidates Anurag Dalal and Sumit Kumar outperformed official party nominees. The election setback coincided with Rahul Gandhi's youth outreach event in Indore under the 'Chhatron Ki Goonj' banner.
