President Murmu Asks Film Stars to Avoid Harmful Health Product Ads at National Film Awards

President Droupadi Murmu urged popular film artists on Tuesday to stop endorsing products that harm public health. Speaking at the 72nd National Film Awards ceremony, she stated that a true star spreads light rather than darkness. The event took place at Ekta Nagar near the Statue of Unity, where top film industry talents gathered to receive honors for 2024.

Juries and Workers

Murmu called for greater involvement of women in the regional juries that select films for these awards. She explained that adding a female perspective helps build a complete human outlook. She also asked the film industry to guarantee proper respect and social security for workers, small artists, and assistants who struggle to make their mark while supporting the creative economy.
